Karl Houston Walls, 27, a teacher at Northeast High School, was arrested by members of the Anne Arundel Police Department following an investigation into claims of sexual misconduct that was launched earlier this year.

It is alleged that Walls sent sexually explicit text messages, photos, and videos to at least two students who came forward and reported his conduct to the authorities.

Police say that Walls solicited child pornography from both his underage victims and had sexual contact with them, some of which happened on school grounds.

In one of the incidents, off school grounds, his victim alleges that he held a knife against her and asked if he “should use it.”

Walls, an Edgewater resident, was charged with:

  • Second-degree rape;
  • Cause to ingest bodily fluids;
  • Perverted practice;
  • Sexual solicitation of a minor;
  • Sex abuse of a minor;
  • Several counts of fourth-degree sex offense as a person of authority and second-degree assault;
  • Dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

Anne Arundel County Public School officials were notified when the allegations were made, and Walls was transitioned to a position where he had no contact with students, pending the investigation, which has been aided by the district.

The department is now worried that there could be additional victims who not have come forward.

Anyone with information regarding Walls or his actions has been asked to contact police investigators by calling the department's tip line at (410) 222-4700 or the Child Abuse Unit at (410) 222-0306.
